Defeating another female, Trump makes it back to the White House for a second and final presidential term.
Returning for his second final presidential term, Trump announced on his social media accounts on November 5, 2024, that he won and he will be the next U.S. president starting in January 2025.
It is prevalent that the U.S. elections go by with the “Electoral College” system. Each state has a number of electors equal to its total number of Senators and Representatives in Congress. There are 538 total electoral votes, and a candidate needs 270 to win. In most states, the candidate who wins the popular vote receives all of that state’s electoral votes.
Trump secured 312 electoral votes, surpassing the 270 needed to win, defeating incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris, who only received 226.
It is the second time for Trump, who is from the Republicans, to beat a female opponent, as in the 2016 elections, Trump won the presidential elections against Hillary Clinton, who was representing the Democratic party.
This year’s presidential elections were fiercer than before. Trump won both the Electoral College and the popular vote, becoming the first Republican to do so since George W. Bush in 2004. He even swept every swing state, in addition to holding onto all the states he won in 2020. Trump significantly improved his vote share among almost all demographics nationwide, particularly among Hispanic voters.
Trump became the second president elected to a non-consecutive second term, 132 years after Grover Cleveland achieved this feat in 1892.
Notably, the 2024 elections mark the first time in 48 years as CBS News says that no Bush, Biden, or Clinton will appear on a U.S. presidential ticket. This breaks a decades-long legacy with George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Joe Biden, and Hillary Clinton previously defined American politics through multiple elections from 1980.
Predictions and assumptions:
For the first time in history, “The Simpsons were wrong,” as many posts revolved around social media. It has always been prevailing that the Simpsons were always right in predicting the future. The famous-long-running series was always on the spot when they showed in one of their episodes in 2002 that Trump would become the U.S president. In later episodes, in later years, they showed that a female would become the U.S. president, and Harris was wearing the same outfit as Lisa Simpson, who was depicted as the U.S. president.
Many politicians were reluctant to post the final results. Some even warned Trump to collect his things and run for his life as he would never be able to enter the White House anymore. It was still a sudden surprise that he was able to win with a magnificent score than his previous win in 2016.
Attempts for assassinations:
In 2024, there were attempts for Trump’s assassinations about two times. The most significant incident was in July at a campaign rally during the 2024 presidential election by a 20-year-old man who is a Democratic supporter, resulting in two deaths and an injury to Trump’s ear. Another assassination attempt took place in September 2024 at the Trump International Golf Club, and Trump posted on his social media accounts that he survived it by a miracle. According to a leaked document that was posted online by U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley on Sept. 5, Iran is the one behind Trump’s attempt for assassination and that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is keenly taking care of it.
The same attempt happened to Trump in 2016. A man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct as he broke over the police barricade and attempted to rush the stage. He was tackled by the Secret Service.
These attempts were described on social media as “similar”, reminiscing about how the 35th president John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
Allies and supporters:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tesla, Starlink, and X (formerly Twitter), Elon Musk, has been explicitly vowing his support for Trump. Musk was successful in retrieving Trump’s suspended accounts on X and supporting him for what he is aiming to achieve. Musk has never shown consent to the Democrats because of the transgender and wokeism ideas. Musk considered his eldest son, who turned himself into a female, dead because he views transgender people as unjust and inhumane, and he was forbidden to contact his son by the Democrats, or he will be jailed. Trump’s ideology is always against transgender people, from the day one he joined the political world. He promised that “he will cut federal funding from all schools that teach children inappropriate sexual material and transgender craze.”
The famous British anchor Piers Morgan posted on his X account that “Common sense will now return to a world that he had gone nuts and thank god for that,” referring to the wokeism ideology.
Many businessmen have advocated Trump, such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, Joe Rogan, Bill Ackman, Tucker Carlson, Hulk Hogan, Dr. Phil, and Buzz Aldrin.
Backing the same conservative ideology as Trump, the Right Wing in Europe is siding with him in that regard. Countries like Egypt, the entire Gulf, and Israel want Trump to end the raging war in the region.
According to a poll of an Israeli channel, 66% of Israelis want Trump to win and only 17% are rooting for Harris.
“I want TRUMP to win so that he can stop those two stupid wars that have already killed 10,000 innocents and are still threatening to kill 100 more,” Emirati internet personality Hassan Sajwani commented on his X account.
Despite that, many people who support the Palestinian cause don’t see such a difference in the region, as any U.S. president, including Trump or not, will insist on the existence of Israel in the region. During Trump’s term, he transferred Israel’s capital from Tel Aviv to East Jerusalem. From many of the Arabs’ points of view, Jerusalem should be Palestine’s capital.
On the other hand, Harris is supported by Hollywood celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Jennifer Loopez, and many more. It has been reported in many articles that the Harris campaign paid $10 million to Beyonce, $5 million to Megan Thee Stallion, $2.3 million to Lizzo, $1.8 million to Eminem, and $1 million to Oprah.
The Left Wing in Europe endorses her wholeheartedly along with Pro-Palestinians, illegal immigrants (since she said that she doesn’t have any intention to deport many as Trump will to), and Iran, which according to U.S. intelligence reports has tried to assassinate Trump.
Key Differences between Republicans and Democrats:
Not only the wokeism and illegal deportations are the divisible lines in the two parties’ strategies. Economy and international effects are also part of the U.S. strong influence.
For the economy, Trump would issue lower taxes across all income levels and limited government intervention in the economy, while the other party would draw a progressive tax system with higher taxes on wealthy individuals and corporations to fund social programs. In one of the interviews, Harris didn’t explain clearly how she will deal with inflation and what she will do differently than her time as Biden’s Vice President. When Trump won, it was reported that the dollar surged by its most in two years and Wall Street was poised for big gains as investors bet that Trump’s return to the White House will create a “high-octane” U.S. economy of higher growth and inflation.
In terms of international political intervention, Trump vowed to terminate wars in many regions that the Democrats had initiated.
Trump is planning to withdraw the American troops from Syria and is promising to end the Russian war with Ukraine. Upon Trump’s win, Russian President Vladimir Putin responded that Russian relationships with the U.S. “will never change” even if Trump is the president.
Trump will even blacklist many Democratic presidents as he once said in one of his election campaigns, he will file a lawsuit against Bush because of Iraq’s occupation. He described Bush’s action as a “mistake.” Trump declared that he will never draw wars but cease them in the entire world.
However, the most awaited one is the war between Israel and Iran as it has been anticipated that Israel will hit Iran heavily after the U.S. presidential elections results, especially the nuclear stations.
