Malaysian Artist Vincent Inspires South African Learners with Message of Hope and Harmony

High Commission of Malaysia hosted a Malaysian musician and an inspirational speaker, Mr. Jeshurun Vincent who is visiting South Africa. Jeshurun, also known as “The Hopeful Musician,” is a 38-year-old Malaysian who has turned his personal struggles into a source of inspiration through his music. Despite being semi deaf, he travelled to more than 150 countries since August 2014, using his journey to spread a message of hope and resilience.

While in South Africa, Jeshurun performed for Hoerskool Hercules grade 12 learners and educators. Jeshurun shared his journey as a musician and inspirational speaker. He exposed the audience to countries he visited, Malaysian culture, languages and cuisine. He also collaborated with Joseph Kgomo who is a South African percussionist.

He was accompanied by the acting High Commissioner of Malaysia, HE Yap Wei Sin who shared with learners and educators about the Bilateral Relations between the People’s Democratic Republic of Malaysia and the People of South Africa. He opened a world of possibilities for learners as his presentation carried the canvase of career opportunities. Lastly, Sello Motsei from Kgwebong Consulting reminded learners about the importance of collaboration and networking.
