On Sunday, United States President Donald Trump has expressed that the next leader of Iran will be personally chosen by him, however Iran’s foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has insisted that the next leader of Iran must be chosen by its own people.

“We allow nobody to interfere in our domestic affairs. This is up to the Iranian people to elect their new leader” said Abbas Araghchi as he told NBC media.

The Iranian foreign Minister, continued to add that Donald Trump in fact should apologise for the killing of people in the region and the people of Iran and to apologise for the damage caused from the airstrikes.

US-Israel had unleashed airstrikes in Tehran on Sunday as Iran was preparing to appoint their new Supreme Leader, as a thick cloud of smoke had consumed the area. “The vote to appoint the leader has taken place and the leader has been chosen,” said Ahmad Alamolhoda.

The clerical body which was tasked with appointing a successor to Ayatollah Ali Khamanei has reached a point of consensus on who will be the next leader although they have not yet named this candidate although there are reports that the next leader could be the Khamanei’s son.

Israel has expressed that they will not hesitate to retaliate against the new leader or the members of the Assembly of Experts that had met to confirm him.

Two new operations were carried out overnight as strikes against fuel dumps in and around Tehran, as well as an attack on the hotel at the heart of Lebanon’s capital beirut which was aimed at targeting suspected Iranian commanders.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they had enough supplies to continue their aerial drone and missile war over the middle east for up to six months as the war heads into its ninth day.
