In the Royal Speech delivered on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of Throne Day, the King Mohammed VI affirmed that Morocco continues to strengthen its position as an emerging economic and industrial power, building on political stability and strong institutional governance, which have positively impacted the country’s economic performance putting the Kingdom as one of the key economical player in Africa.
The Monarch highlighted that the Moroccan economy recorded a growth rate of approximately 4.9% in 2025, with positive prospects for maintaining this momentum throughout 2026, supported by a favourable agricultural season and improved water resources, thereby reinforcing the Kingdom’s food and water security.
The Sovereign emphasized that Morocco has successfully established itself as a leading destination for industrial, tourism, and financial investment in the automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, and agri-food industries. Those economical areas have become key pillars of the national economy, attracting foreign investment and generating employment opportunities.
The King Mohammed VI also pointed out that Morocco has become Africa’s leading automobile exporter, with an annual production capacity approaching one million vehicles. Furthermore, He emphasised that exports from the automotive and aerospace sectors now account for more than 40% of the country’s total exports, surpassing phosphate exports that once constituted one of the most important export of the country.
The Royal Speech also highlighted the launch of new industrial projects that have enabled Morocco to join the ranks of leading countries in the production of aircraft engines and landing systems, while advancing strategic initiatives in electric vehicle batteriesandgreen hydrogen, reinforcing the Kingdom’s position in future industries and the global energy transition.
In the tourism sector, The king underscored that Morocco welcomed around 20 million visitors in 2025, describing the figure as historic and reflective of the sector’s sustained dynamism and growing contribution to the national economy.
The Moroccan Monarch concluded by stressing that these achievements are the result of a long-term strategic vision aimed at strengthening Morocco’s economic sovereignty and building a competitive economy capable of adapting to global transformations.
