Morocco has been chosen to host the 93rd session of the General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) in Marrakech in 2025. The decision was made during the 91st session of Interpol’s General Assembly held in Vienna, Austria, attended by representatives from 196 member countries.
The General Assembly of Interpol who serves as the organization’s highest decision-making body, convening to address global security challenges and criminal trends, voted in favor of Morocco’s candidacy underscores the international community’s trust in the nation and its security institutions.
Following the vote, Abdellatif Hammouchi, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, expressed gratitude on behalf of Morocco. He emphasized the country’s commitment to bolster international efforts in combating terrorism and transnational crime. Hammouchi assured that Morocco and its security services are fully prepared to host this prestigious security forum.
Highlighting Morocco’s ongoing support to Interpol and its member countries, Hammouchi noted the nation’s contributions towards global security and stability. A video showcasing Morocco’s progress and modernization under the leadership of King Mohammed VI was presented during the candidacy. This presentation illustrated the Moroccan security services’ pioneering role in international security cooperation.
