In November last year South African President Cyril Ramaphosa had accepted the Presidency for this year’s G20 Leaders summit during the summit which was held in Rio De Janeiro. This turned the spotlight towards South Africa and Africa as a whole.

South Africa’s G20 presidency is a monumental one for the country as this provides a historic platform for South Africa to influence global dialogue in regards to inclusive development, sustainable partnerships as well as shared prosperity. South Africa is now under intense global attention which may open up doors to scrutiny and have to prepare for any external narratives that may potentially suppress the overall full picture of the intentions of South Africa’s G20 Presidency.

In order to uphold the narrative in the hands of the South African Presidency as opposed to other external factors, The G20 launched an official video aimed at shifting perception through robust visual storytelling and giving an authentic look to South Africa on the global stage.  This video is rooted under the theme “Shared & Unified Prosperity through Sustainable Partnerships,” this visual piece represents the spirit, pride, and purpose of South Africa’s G20 leadership.

It is a strong statement on the intentions of South Africa’s G20 Presidency and what the country hopes to achieve with this opportunity as well as having the ability to choose how the country is perceived. With this year’s values being “Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability”, this audio visual embodies this theme within the narrative and clearly highlights the vision of South Africa’s Presidency of the G20.

The launch is set to take place in Rosebank Johannesburg.
