“President Trump has a humanitarian heart, which is why he has welcomed these courageous individuals to the United States.” said White House Deputy Press Secretary Anna Kelly, in light of the latest collection of Afrikaans farmers welcomed into the United States due to claims of a ‘White Genocide’ in South Africa, that has made media waves since early February 2025.

Reports are circulating that United States President Donald Trump has allocated 30,000-40,000 spaces solely dedicated to the settlement of Afrikaans “Refugees”.

This comes at the back of a 120,000 refugee backlog in which those refugees are waiting for settlement, as Trump has nominated to prioritize these White Afrikaner “refugees” ahead of tens of thousands of Sudanese, Somalian and Congolese refugees whose countries are experiencing  war and famine in their respective countries, yet Trump ignores their pleas for asylum in order to give precedence to “White Genocide refugees” who have fled South Africa, these are claims that South African government have denied.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, along with key cabinet members, has accompanied him to the White House in order to clarify to United States President Donald Trump that the claims of a ‘white genocide’ are false.

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) have also refuted these claims made by the United States government; “So, for one to argue this idea that Afrikaners are being persecuted–one would have to show which country in the world persecutes people and then allows the very same people to have street names after them, have people of that ethnic group or language group occupying very important positions in government.” said Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Spokesperson Chrispin Phiri as per Voice of the Cape Newsbeat.

Despite their denial of these claims President Trump has remained convinced that these Afrikaner settlers and their people that have remained in South Africa are under attack.

This 40,000 mandate was set by Donald Trump and will be seen as the lowest target set by a President of the United States since the initiative was implemented 45 years ago.

“Refugee admission caps will be determined next month, and any numbers discussed at this point are pure speculation” added Kelly.

In January Donald Trump closed admissions for the refugee program but reopened it in February to accommodate the Afrikaner settlers into America.

The priority of these Afrikaner settlers as refugees has put Trump under major public scrutiny because of the hypocrisy of prioritising a hoax over actual refugees whose countries are facing genocide and war.

However Trump and his administration remain steadfast in the notion that they are doing the right thing by giving preference to these Afrikaner farmers.
