By Lesedi Sibiya-Diplomatic Insider  Last week the world was taken by storm due to the assasination of Charlie Kirk, an American conservative activist who was a strong ally to United States President Donald Trump. Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck after speaking at a debate hosted by Utah Valley University last Wednesday.  Charlie Kirk was very vocal on a variety of sensitive topics specifically surrounding promoting gun use in America, despite their rise in mass shootings each year, and his controversial comments surrounding the LGBTQ community and his views on women.  Despite these sensitive conversations being challenged by Charlie Kirk who has received major public criticism on his views, has earned the sympathy of Afriforum youth.  “Kirk has proven through his debates, especially with young people of diverse schools of thought, that the conservative voice must be heard and that well-founded arguments will prevail in a world where a woke agenda is often imposed on young people,” via a statement released by Afriforum Youth.  The organisation have expressed their support and admiration for Kirk’s skills in terms of how he engaged in critical debates as well as his steadfastness towards his views.  “Kirk has proven through his debates, especially with young people of diverse schools of thought, that the conservative voice must be heard and that well-founded arguments will prevail,” the organisation further expressed.  The conservative views shared by Charlie Kirk, gave hope to Afriforum Youth, that feel as though his views represented people of the youth and gave them a voice that conservative views of thought do have a place in the world and has regarded the incident as a “wake-up call” to the broader aspects surrounding conservative views.

Kirk was also known for his controversial views surrounding his advocacy for Israel, and for holding strong Christian beliefs.
