A high-level Moroccan delegation composed of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), and Lieutenant General, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie received, on the 15 July 2026 in Rabat, the High Representative for Gaza of the Board of Peace Nickolay Mladenov, and the Commander of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza.
During the meeting, the Moroccan side emphasized that the Kingdom’s participation in the ISF reflects deep commitment to the values of peace, cooperation, and international solidarity and will contribute to the achievement and establishment of peace and security in the Middle East region.
The Moroccan high-level delegation highlighted the kingdom’s experience in UN-led peacekeeping operations, as well as its ongoing commitment—both regionally and internationally—to peace and stability.
For their part, senior officials of the Gaza Peace Council and the ISF Commander warmly welcomed the Kingdom of Morocco’s participation in this peace initiative through its contribution—the deployment of high-ranking FAR officers to the ISF Joint Command, officials from the Royal Gendarmerie and the Moroccan Police, as well as the establishment of a field military hospital.
At the close of the meeting, the two parties inked the Agreement on the Participation of the Kingdom of Morocco in the International Stabilization Force in Gaza, the legal framework covering the technical and operational aspects of this participation and reflects the shared commitment to contribute, through concrete humanitarian and security actions, to building a climate of peace and security in the region, the statement concluded.
It is worth noting that during the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council, held in Washington on February 19, 2026, Morocco pledged to support the efforts of the Peace Council in Gaza, notably through:
- A financial contribution to the Peace Council’s budget (Morocco being the first country to make such a contribution);
- The deployment of senior officers already serving on the General Staff of the International Stabilization Force in Gaza;
- The deployment of a Moroccan contingent, comprising police and gendarmerie forces, to train and support the new Gaza police force;
- The deployment of a military field hospital to serve both the force and the people of Gaza;
- The launch of a program to combat radicalization and promote tolerance and coexistence.
These actions have been taken to complement the daily work carried out by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, which works tirelessly to preserve heritage and improve the living conditions of Palestinians in East Jerusalem.
