Masses of mourners, dressed in black, gathered at a stadium in Beirut on Sunday, February 23, to pay their respects to Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine, who were killed in separate Israeli strikes in September and October, respectively.

The large crowds came together to honor the martyrs of the resistance, pledge allegiance to the movement, and express solidarity with Palestine.

In a speech read out during the funeral and burial ceremonies, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, reaffirmed the commitment to resistance, stating, “Let the enemy be aware that resistance against usurpation, oppression, and arrogance will never end and will continue until the ultimate goal is reached, by the will of God.”

Hezbollah, one of the first Islamic resistance groups in the Middle East to challenge and defeat the Israeli Defense Forces, remains steadfast in its mission to end the occupation of Muslim territories.

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine became symbols of resistance, and their assassinations were intended to weaken the movement. However, their deaths have only strengthened the resolve of their followers.

In a televised address, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem vowed that the movement would continue on the path set by Nasrallah, stating, “We will uphold trust and walk on this path; we will uphold your will.”

Although Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sheikh Hashem Safieddine are no longer present, the resistance continues. Their supporters have pledged to carry forward their struggle. The people of Palestine can take solace in knowing they are not alone—millions who came to pay their last respects also reaffirmed their unwavering solidarity and commitment to the cause.
