On 11 February 2026, a e-hailing driver, Isaac Satlat, was murdered by two men and one woman as they had requested an e-hailing service, as a graphic video had begun to circulate the internet. The two men and the woman who are suspected of being the perpetrators have been apprehended and appeared in court this morning. 

In the video, the woman was seen wearing a bucket hat and a white t-shirt in the front seat, and one of the men sat directly behind the driver and began to assault him until he lost his life. 

After the driver lost his life he was put in the backseat while the second man had proceeded to get in the driver’s seat.

 “The drivers hijacked the vehicle and his body was later discovered in Attridgeville on the same day” said Police spokesperson, Colonel Mavela Masondo. 

The three suspects appeared at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court this morning and have abandoned their bid for bail as the court has opted to investigate the case further. 

 The names of the suspects are; Dikeledi Mphela, Gotsione Machidi and Mclaren Mushwana. The three of them have collectively abandoned their application for bail and will remain in custody.

 The case has been postponed to 23 February for further bail investigations to take place as the authorities have noted that they are looking for a fourth suspect.

Protestors were also seen outside of the court today, demanding that the suspects receive severe punishment. 

Isaac Satlat had borrowed the vehicle in order to make extra money and was in the middle of his mechanical engineering internship in Centurion which was set to conclude in March and would have celebrated his birthday on March 12.
