The presidents of the Moroccan, Spanish and Spanish federations support the 2030 World Cup bid

The presidents of the federations of Morocco, Portugal and Spain met on Wednesday 18th Octobre 2023, morning in Lisbon as part of the joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup.

This meeting was attended by M. Fernando Gomes (Portuguese Football Federation), M. Fouzi Lekjaa(Royal Moroccan Football Federation) and M. Pedro Rocha (Royal Spanish Football Federation) and made it possible to continue the preparation of the candidacy that unites two continents and aims to be the best in history for a World Cup.

This was the second time that the presidents of the three associations had met, but the first after FIFA’s decision on the 2030 World Cup was known.

At the meeting held in ‘’Cidade do Futebol’’, the headquarters of the FPF, it was decided to present the 28th October the letter of intent to host the World Cup, fulfilling one of the Application Process Requirements.

This will be the first formal step towards the joint application and will demonstrate the commitment of the Morocco, Portugal and Spain to organize a successful World Cup.

This solemn moment will take place in Rabat and will be followed by a press conference attended by the presidents of the three federations.
